After studying Anthropology at Carleton University in Ottawa, Trevor
attended the New York Film Academy where he graduated in 2002. It
wasn't long before his passion for film enticed Trevor to team up with
Jon Knautz and Patrick White to form Brookstreet Pictures Corp. As CEO,
Trevor initiated his film career by producing and acting in Brookstreet
Pictures' series of short films: Teen Massacre, Still Life, The Other
Celia, and Moment of Truth.
Trevor is the son of technology magnate, Sir Terence Matthews, founder of Mitel Networks, Newbridge Networks, and owner of the Brookstreet Hotel and Celtic Manor Resort in Wales. Trevor's business acumen was, in part, seasoned through his involvement with various "Matthews" business holdings including March Networks and the venture capital firm, Wesley Clover Corporation.
Trevor has demonstrated his ability to transition between both the logistical and creative sides of Brookstreet Pictures, being both the titular character and producer of Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer, Brookstreet Pictures' first feature film. Their second feature, The Shrine, premiered at the 2010 FanTasia Int'l Film Festival where it won the Audience Award for Best Canadian Feature. As CEO of Brookstreet Pictures, Trevor continues to develop projects for future production.
