Aditya Roy Kapur is an Indian actor well-known for his performances in Hindi films. He studied at G. D. Somani Memorial School in Mumbai. When he was in class XI, he joined St. Xavier's. He attended St. Andrew's College.
Kapoor started his career as a VJ on Channel V India. He also hosted shows like Pakao and India's Hottest (2007) along with VJ Bruna Abdullah till 2008. Kapoor's debut in Hindi movie was in a supporting role in London Dreams (2009), which also starred Ajay Devgn, Salman Khan, and Asin Thottumkal.
He was next seen playing the role of Bunty Saigal, the son of Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the comedy movie Action Replayy (2010). He also played the role of Omar Siddiqui in Guzaarish (2010) starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Kapoor's first movie as a lead actor was Aashiqui 2 (2013), which was also the debut movie of actress Shraddha Kapoor. The movie was a blockbuster hit, which earned approximately Rs. 1.45 billion in the first four weeks. The movie won several awards, and Kapoor was awarded the Best Actor in a Romantic Role by the BIG Star Entertainment Awards. He also won the Most Romantic Jodi award with Shraddha Kapoor and another Screen Awards Jodi No. 1 in 2014.
Kapoor was next seen in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013) starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Kalki Koechlin. This movie got him his first IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actor.
