Erin Lee Carr is a two-time Emmy nominated filmmaker known for exploring criminal justice, femininity and virality.

Most recently, Erin served as an Executive Producer on Hulu's three-part documentary series Perfect Wife, directed by Michael Beach Nichols, which tells the captivating story of Sherri Papini's mysterious 2016 disappearance. Perfect Wife debuted at #1 on Hulu and ultimately became the most watched documentary in the streamer's history.

Earlier this year, Erin produced alongside Judd Apatow and Imagine Entertainment on Peacock's Original Documentary Stormy, directed by Sarah Gibson. The story centers Stormy Daniels who would go on to offer testimony in the 2024 hush money trial that led to former President Trump's conviction in the case. Variety's Owen Gleiberman wrote '"Stormy" shows you what the scandal looks like from inside the sensationalist bubble of fame, and by the end of the film you may be a little bit ashamed of us all."

2024 will continue to be a busy year for Carr, with two more projects premiering in October: a feature length documentary on Hulu (directed), and a two-part series on HBO (directed).

In 2022, Hulu announced that they were picking up Murdaugh Murders for development (Erin will serve as co-creator alongside Michael D. Fuller with Executive Producers Nick Antosca and Alex Hedlund with the studio UCP). The series is based on Mandy Matney's hit podcast Murdaugh Murders which was named a "top five most shared podcast" by Apple in 2022 having hit #1 on Apple podcasts. ELC has a scripted first look deal with studio UCP for Universal.

Erin directed The Ringleader: the Case of the Bling Ring that premiered on HBO on Sunday October 1st, 2023. It was the 3rd most watched documentary film on HBO Max's platform for all of 2023. Prior to that, she immersed herself into the dynamic and high stakes world of Britney Spears and directed and produced Britney Vs Spears, which premiered on Netflix and was the #1 most-watched film on the platform in over 25 countries. In 2022, HBO released ELC's Undercurrent: The Disappearance of Kim Wall which examined the life, work and untimely death of journalist Kim Wall. Additionally, she was an Executive Producer on Netflix's Orgasm Inc: the Story of One Taste alongside directors Sarah Gibson/Sloane Klevin and Producer Lena Dunham.

Past work includes: her four-part docuseries How to Fix a Drug Scandal which was released in 2020 on Netflix. Earlier that year Erin's documentary At The Heart of Gold: Inside the USA Gymnastics Scandal (for HBO) was the proud recipient of the Emmy's Television Academy Honors. Earlier in her career, Erin directed the critically acclaimed I Love You, Now Die: The Commonwealth V. Michelle Carter, also for HBO. Her break-out film was Mommy Dead and Dearest, which premiered at the SXSW in 2017 and aired on HBO May 15, 2017 also known as Mother's Day. Erin's directorial debut was Thought Crimes: The Case of The Cannibal Cop, the documentary premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and aired on HBO that May.
